Beef stoganoff

Ingredients

  • 500g frying steak
  • 500g mushrooms
  • 1/2 bottle of red wine
  • Knob of butter
  • Plain flour (for thickening)
  • 150ml double cream
  • 6 tsp paprika
  • 200g onions
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • Beef stock cube
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 3 tsp parsley
  • 3 tsp sage
  • White pepper
  • Black pepper
  • Salt

Method

  • Melt the knob of butter in a casserole dish.
  • Fry the onions and garlic.
  • Add the paprika, parsley, sage, and mushrooms (keep stirring).
  • Add the beef, red wine, and cream (keep stirring).
  • Stir in the honey and stock cube.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Put the lid on and put in a preheating oven (140) for 2-3 hours.
  • Thicken the sauce if needed with flour.
